Habitat

The yellow baboon lives in sub-desert, light woodland and rainforest areas and cliffs. Baboons are very seldom seen in open grasslands.

Related Species

There are five species of baboon including the olive baboon (Papio doguera), the brown or guinea baboon (Papio papio) and the chacma baboon (Papio ursinus). More distant relatives include the macaques, the mangabeys and the mandrills.
