Portfolio and Examples

Examples

E-learning comes in all shapes and sizes. It could include something as simple as a SCORM compliant PowerPoint presentation, a video presentation, or detailed software simulations or pre-tests.

All demonstration files are copyright Kookaburra Studios Pty Ltd and/or contributors.

All of the following examples are SCORM compliant.

Software Simulation.
This is an interactive, software simulation, teaching a user how to use a particular aspect of the e-learning software, KnowledgePresenter. Includes checking for user mouse operations, keyboard events, and a drag event.

Software Simulation with audio.
This learning object includes audio instructions. Optimized for MediaPlayer Version 7, but will also work in earlier versions.

Software Skills Pre-test.
This learning object is a test of some simple Microsoft Word skills. User progress is tracked, and a score is given at the end. User clicks are tracked to determine how many clicks were required to perform the requested task.

Multiple Choice Quiz.
This is a multiple choice quiz, created from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. This quiz contains 60 questions, and all results are tracked and scored. Questions are asked in a random order.

How well do you know your planets?
This is a visual quiz. Includes full scoring and user error checking.

How well do you know your countries?
This e-learning object tests the users geography skills. Includes full scoring and error-checking.

How well do you know your flags?
Similar to the learning object above, this e-learning object asks you to drag a country's flag onto its correct position on a map.

Video-like e-learning demonstration.
This is a non-interactive e-learning object, demonstrating some concepts of Microsoft Word. It includes audio, and some animation, so that it appears to be a large, high bandwidth video, but is a low bandwidth tricky replacement.

There's more than one way to do it...
This example illustrates how you can give users a choice on how they would like to perform an action - via menu command, keyboard shortcuts, toolbar buttons, etc. All scoring functionality and program flow is maintained regardless of which method the user chooses to interact.

A Star is Born.
This learning object includes a series of slides synchronized to an imported audio track. Display transitions, object movement and object resizing are used.

Mars Pathfinder Mission
This learning object illustrates a low bandwidth, video-like presentation, synchronized to an audio track. When this learning object is finished, it automatically loads a new learning object in the same window, illustrating how learning objects can be linked.

What is it about whales?
This learning object includes a series of slides synchronized to an imported video clip.

The Solar System
This interactive example demonstrates how you can jump to any point in an e-learning object. It includes a Print facility where the entire presentation can be printed.

Imported PowerPoint Presentation.
This example includes an imported PowerPoint presentation, with backwards and forwards buttons to move through the learning object.
